PRETTY LIGHTS FEAT. JIMI HENDRIX: FINALLY MOVING [LANCE HERBSTRONG REMIX]

Lance Herbstrong‘s remix of Pretty Lights “Finally Moving” is a must-have: With Jimi Hendrix and his excellent “All Along The Watchtower” interpretation on top is this blend creating an unique feel of past, present and future – all in the same moment.

SALT’N’PEPA: SHOOP [THE UNKNOWN REMIX]

Unknown produced remix of Salt’n’Pepa “Shoop”. Old skool rap flavour. I love that.
“Shoop” was the lead single released from Salt’n’Pepa‘s fourth studio album, “Very Necessary”. Released in 1993, the song became one of the groups most successful singles. No idea when this remix was originally released. Or who produced it. If you have any informations feel free to let me know, please.
Push it!

RELATIVE FUNK SOUNDSYSTEM: C.L. SMOOTH & STAPLE SINGERS WILL TAKE YOU THERE

Relative Funk SoundSystem did a great job bringing C.L. Smooth and Staple Singers together.
The used Staple Singers song “I’ll Take You There” is a number-one single, released on Stax Records in 1972. This mashup was posted on soundcloud in 2011.

PRINCE ON BIRTHDAYS [AND NOT GETTING OLDER]

Prince [aka The Artist at that time] was undergoing some changes in his viewpoints. This was one of them, after some bible studies with Jehovah’s Witnesses, via his mentor and “loving brother” Larry Graham. Scenes from a dutch TV show in – you guessed it – 1999. Dig it!

GRAND FUNK RAILROAD: FEELIN’ ALRIGHT [MOJOWORKINZ REWORK]

Excellent rework of Grand Funk Railroad‘s “Feelin’ Alright” by mojoworkinz from Glasgow. Top track!
Original tune written by Dave Mason of the English rock band Traffic in 1968. Grand Funk Railroad did their cover version three years later. This edit followed in 2012.

MIGHTY MIKE: PROUD MARY IS THE ANSWER [CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL VS WEEZER]

A timeless mashup classic from 2010 by blending genius Mighty Mike who combined Creedence Clearwater Revival‘s “Proud Mary” [acapella] with Weezer‘s “Love Is The Answer”.
I noticed this tune for the first time in the excellent “Woodstock ReMashed. 2 Hours Of Peace & Music” audiocast that came out the same year.

GRAHAM CENTRAL STATION: THE JAM [MICHAEL WOODRUFF EDIT]

One of the funkiest basslines around, “The Jam” by Larry Graham Central Station in a mainly instrumental edit by Michael Woodruff. Download information? Check his soundcloud profile, not mine.
