PARLIAMENT: CHOCOLATE CITY [CHUCK WILD’S BRONCO DRAMA MIX]

Imagine this: Muhammad Ali is the President of the United States, Reverend Ike the Secretary of the Treasury, Richard Pryor the Minister of Education, Stevie Wonder the Secretary of Fine Arts and Aretha Franklin the First Lady. That was the vision of George Clinton‘s Parliament band in 1975 when they released their song “Chocolate City”.
Chuck Wild, head honcho at the music blog mixtaperiot.com, got inspired a year ago by the 2nd presidential election win of Barack Obama [the guy who closed Guantanamo], and gave the Parliament classic some fresh edits for another reign.

BOOTSY COLLINS: BABA BLACK [CLAUDE VONSTROKE EDIT]

Bootsy Collins is one of the biggest names in the history of funk music: He was member in James Brown‘s backing band The JB’s in the early 70s and later bass guitarist for the incredible Funkadelic/Parliament group. He is responsible for tons of funky releases and guest appearances on countless releases: His own and on those who needed some brilliant funkyness.
Bootsy Collins‘ trademark: His driving bass guitar play. You’ll find a wonderful example in this grooving “Baba Black Edit” by American dj and remixer Claude VonStroke. This one is so groooovy!
I found this edit on the electronic music blog Fat Berri’s. Find out by yourself if you have the luck discovering a download option.

FUNKADELIC: TAKE YOUR DEAD ASS HOME [SAY SOM’N NASTY MORLACK RE-FLEX]

“Take Your Dead Ass Home! (Say Som’n Nasty)” is taken from the eight studio album by George Clinton and The Funkadelic, entitled “Tales of Kidd Funkadelic”, and released on the Westbound label in 1976.
French funk producer Morlack produced a concentrated extract of this tune: His well produced re-flex is rougher and shorter than the original, but he doesn’t touched the wild freakyness of the original song.
Please try this at home!

FUNKADELIC: NOT JUST KNEE DEEP [DJ YAMIN REMIX]

DJ Yamin from New Orleans took Funkadelic‘s “[Not Just] Knee Deep”, shortened it down from over 15 minutes to 307 seconds and added some De La Soul “Me Myself and Eye” snippets. Good one.
